Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy accelerates the healing process of orthopaedic conditions. It is a self-pay service that can be paid for on-site by cash or card.

Shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment method that uses acoustic waves to treat pain and inflammation – particularly for tendinitis, heel spurs, tennis elbow and shoulder complaints.

Benefits

  • Gentle and non-invasive
  • Sessions last about 15–20 minutes
  • No downtime after treatment
  • Effective pain relief, often after just a few sessions

What is a shockwave?

Shockwaves are high-energy pressure waves that act on tissue against inflammation and support regeneration. The effect sets in at the latest between 4 and 6 weeks after starting therapy.

Treatable conditions

  • Shoulder tendinopathies
  • Patellar tendinopathy (jumper’s knee)
  • Golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow
  • Heel spurs
  • Bursitis

Cost

Shockwave therapy is a self-pay service. We’re happy to inform you about current prices in person at the practice. Cash as well as debit and credit cards are accepted.

Please note that shockwave therapy is not suitable for every patient – an individual assessment by the specialist is required.
